For those who make a living from social networks, or use them as an important support to boost their brand, it is essential to know when is the best time to share content. However, we cannot always be available to publish posts on Instagram, so the app includes a useful feature to schedule posts and thus have reels, photos or videos uploaded on the day and time we select.
That said, keep in mind that this option is only available to users who have a professional account; regular profiles will not find this feature, at least at the time of writing.
Schedule posts on Instagram from the app
The first step will be to create your post with the content you want to schedule on Instagram. Whether its a photo, a photo gallery, a video or a reel; note, this method will not work to schedule stories.
Once you have edited your post and are on the final screen before sharing it, you will need to scroll down to the bottom, where you will see 1Advanced settings7.
Inside Advanced settings, the first option that appears is 1Schedule this post7, under the Schedule content category; activate it to display the calendar, where you can select the date and time you want your post to be published.
Keep in mind that you can only set scheduling up to one month in advance, that is, you cannot schedule a post beyond 30 days.
Once you have set your schedule, in the Schedule this post option you will see the date and time you have chosen so you can correct it in case you selected it by mistake.
If everything is correct, go back and finish configuring your post, in case you dont have it ready yet. You will see that the “Share” button now says “Schedule.”
Once you tap on Schedule, the Instagram post will be uploaded internally and will wait until the set day and time to become public.
Afterwards, you can check which posts you have scheduled, in case you later want to make any modifications or change the time you want them to be published. To get to this section, tap on New post and there you will see a section called “Scheduled” (if you do not have any scheduled posts, this space will not appear in the interface).
There you can review all the posts that will be uploaded in the future.
It is worth noting that, in our experience, this feature has proven to be somewhat unstable most of the time. From errors when uploading scheduled content to outright failures when it came time to publish the post, with the post not being shared. There also seem to be errors when you have more than one scheduled post.
