Are you someone who regularly uses AI to get information or to help you with your daily tasks? Have you never used it because this whole world overwhelms you? Well, now it’s easier than ever because Microsoft has officially launched Copilot for WhatsApp. For those who don’t know, Copilot is Microsoft’s artificial intelligence based on ChatGPT, which is capable of receiving text, voice and images, generating images for you and even responding via a voice assistant.
This way, we can make use of Copilot without needing to download the Copilot app, or without having to go to its website to interact with this AI.
Copilot is already integrated into WhatsApp and you can talk to it as if it were just another chat
So, if you need a quick recipe to get by with the four ingredients left in your fridge, if you want more information about a painting you’re looking at, or anything else, now you have Copilot at your fingertips on WhatsApp.
To add Copilot to your WhatsApp list you can do it in several ways.
- Scanning this QR:
- Or tapping on this link from your smartphone so that the Copilot bot automatically opens in the messaging app
Once you complete one of these steps, you’ll see a prompt to add Copilot to your WhatsApp; tap Continue to enter the chat with this AI.
First you’ll need to write anything to it so the chatbot sends the usual Terms and Conditions notice that you must accept if you want to use the service. Tap «Accept» and continue.
Don’t worry if you see that it only speaks to you in English by default; you can tell it to speak to you in Spanish and it will begin to do so. From that point on, if you speak to it in Spanish, it will reply in the same language.
With the AI up and running, you can send it text and it will reply almost instantly with an answer. You can also send it photos and it will analyze their content to answer your questions about them, although for photos it may take a few seconds to send you the response.
That said, if you prefer to use it as a voice assistant like Siri or Google Assistant, then you might be interested in downloading the Copilot app or ChatGPT, since from there you will be able to speak to it with your voice so that it responds as if it were a spoken conversation.
It’s possible that Copilot will end up coming to other apps besides WhatsApp, or so it appears from Microsoft’s official page.
