Managing social media is not as simple as it seems from the outside, especially if you regularly upload content and aim for a somewhat professional look. Whether it’s optimal posting times or algorithms… If you don’t want to be on hand to upload your videos to TikTok at the exact moment, there is a feature to schedule your content and let the platform publish them for you automatically at the date and time you specify.

This way, you can forget about being “available” at the time that suits you best to post your TikToks, since the app will do it when the clock reaches the scheduled time.

How to schedule your TikTok videos and stop having to publish them manually

It should be noted that this option is only available on TikTok’s web version for desktop, more specifically within an area called the Creator Center of the web app.

First of all, you need to access the Creator Center (you can do so by following this link). If you’ve never used TikTok Web until now, you’ll likely need to sign in with your account.

Inside the Creator Center, you’ll see a button labeled “Upload”, from which you can upload the video you want to schedule.

Once you’ve selected your file, during the upload screen you’ll see the option Schedule video, just below the “Comment”, “Duet” and “Stitch” boxes.

Simply enable “Schedule video” and set the date and time when you want your TikTok to be published. Keep in mind that you can only schedule them up to 10 days in advance.

All that’s left is to click “Schedule” and your TikTok will be published automatically on the date you’ve selected.

You can check your posting calendar by going to the “Posts” section in the Creator Center, where you’ll find all your TikToks, both published and scheduled, and the option to see details such as views, comments and even delete those videos.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that it is not possible to reschedule a TikTok that you’ve already scheduled; that is, if you made a mistake when choosing the date and time, or simply want to change it, you’ll have to delete the post and upload it again. It’s an option we certainly miss and hope TikTok adds sooner rather than later, for the benefit of those of us who keep making the same mistake.

Finally, it won’t be necessary to have the file available locally once you’ve scheduled it, because it will be uploaded to TikTok’s servers (in fact, by scheduling a video, you agree that it will be stored on their servers temporarily until it is published) and will be published from there.
