If you want to remove all your TikTok likes, there is one limitation worth knowing about: the app has no built-in option to remove them all at once. You can remove them manually, video by video, or use external tools to automate the process, although the latter option requires you to consider permissions and the service’s terms of use.
If you simply want to stop other people from seeing the videos you like, you do not need to delete anything: you can hide the list in your privacy settings. We explain how below.
How to remove TikTok likes manually
The most straightforward method is to open your collection of liked videos and tap the heart on each post to unlike it. This is the simplest option if you have relatively few likes, as everything happens within TikTok and you do not need to grant another service access.
- Open TikTok and go to Profile in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the tab with the heart icon to display the videos you have liked.
- Open one of those videos and find the heart on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Tap the heart to remove your like: once it turns white, the like has been removed.
- Swipe to the next video or return to your collection to choose another and repeat the process.
The advantage is control: you can review each post and keep the likes on videos that still interest you. The downside is the time it takes to remove hundreds of likes by repeating the same action.
Removing these likes may help change your For You recommendations, especially if they reflect past interests, but it is not a guaranteed way to reset the algorithm.
Tools for removing likes in bulk
If your collection is too large to go through manually, there are apps and browser extensions that automate the removal of likes. The wikiHow guide lists UnLikeAll and Redact among the options for this task. These tools perform the actions for you rather than unlock a hidden bulk-removal feature in TikTok.
Before using them, there is an important warning to bear in mind: allowing an external tool to access your account and act on your behalf may violate TikTok’s terms of service. These are not official features of the app, and you use them at your own risk.
The exact process varies between services, but it usually starts with installing the app or extension and following its instructions to open TikTok or sign in. Review the permissions it requests before granting access.
Many tools let you select a date range to remove interactions from a particular period or cover all available activity. Some also offer a preview of the videos before making any changes. Do not assume that the filters available in one tool will also be available in another.
Once you start the task, the service automatically removes likes one at a time. That does not mean the process is free and unlimited: there may be trials, daily limits or paid features, depending on the tool.
How to hide your likes without removing them
If you are concerned about other people being able to see the videos you like, TikTok lets you restrict the visibility of that list without removing the likes you have left on posts:
- Go to Profile and open the three-line menu in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings and privacy, then Privacy.
- Find Liked videos and select Only you.
With this setting, you keep your likes, but the list is hidden from everyone else. You are changing the visibility of your collection, not your past interactions: this is a privacy setting, not a way to clear your For You recommendations.
