To find videos you’ve left a comment on on TikTok, the quickest route is through the app: go to Profile, open the three-line menu and select Activity centre > Comment history. There, you can browse your comments and return to the corresponding video without having to remember who posted it.

On a computer, you’ll need to request a download of your account data. This lets you review your comments, but it can take several days and is less convenient for finding a video again.

How to access your comment history on mobile

  1. Open TikTok and tap Profile in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap the three-line button at the top right.
  3. Look for Activity centre, marked with a clock icon in the personal tools section.
  4. Open Comment history, near the top of the menu.

The screen displays your comments alongside a small thumbnail of each video on the right.

To open a post, tap the comment. TikTok will load the video with its comments section open, so you can review the conversation or close that panel to watch the full video. When you want to keep browsing, use the back arrow in the top-left corner to return to your history.

Sorting and deleting comments, and why some videos won’t open

At the top left, a drop-down menu lets you sort comments from newest to oldest or vice versa. This allows you to start with either your latest comments or your earliest ones.

You can also delete your own comments from this screen: press and hold a comment, then select Delete.

There’s an important distinction to keep in mind: a comment appearing in your history doesn’t guarantee that you can play the video. If the post has been deleted or made private, you can still see your comment and, where applicable, the one you replied to, but you’ll no longer be able to watch the video.

How to view your comments on a computer

On desktop, TikTok doesn’t offer an equivalent way to access your comment history. The alternative is to download your data. If you have the app handy and just want to find a video again, using your phone is the quickest option.

  1. Open TikTok, go to Profile in the left sidebar and click the cog icon next to your name.
  2. In the data section, select Download your data. You can keep the TXT format, which makes the downloaded content easy to read.
  3. Choose the information you want to include. You can select everything or just the sections you’re interested in, but make sure Comments is selected.
  4. Click Request data. Preparing the file can take several days; you’ll need to wait for TikTok to notify you that it’s available.
  5. Go to Download data and click the link next to the date of your request.

When you open the file, you’ll be able to review your comment history and see where you posted each comment. However, you won’t have the app’s direct navigation: to watch a video, you’ll need to find it manually.

You can also download your data from your phone if you want to keep a copy of your comments, but you don’t need to do this to view your comment history.
